Today marks our last day in Mexico for a while. My oldest, Madison, came to me and stated that while she loves Mexico she really wants to travel to places that she gets to sightsee and explore non-beach places beyond Mexico. She wants to see Europe, mostly Harry Potter stuff in England, but nonetheless, she wants to explore without a bathing suit in tow. So we have made the decision to return to Canada for a white Christmas filled with crafts, baking, and snow! We will begin planning out our next set of adventures to head out on later next year hopefully! We do plan to come back and visit the many friends we have made in Mexico however it will only be for short periods of time. I won’t lie I am a bit excited about being able to explore a part of the world we haven’t been to yet (mostly Portugal as it is where my mom’s family is from).
I am so grateful for our time here in Mexico. We have loved every moment of it and had so much fun. I have learned a lot about myself here. I have been on my own with my girls in Mexico for 7 weeks! That is pretty amazing to say I did! We have had so much fun and pushed ourselves to the limits of our comfort zones and still didn’t get frustrated with each other so that in itself is miraculous. I have spent a total of 3.5 months this last year on beaches and I can honestly say that while I loved all of it I am also thirsty for adventure beyond the beaches too. I love my home and want to just do adventure travels and then head home. I enjoy the shorter busier travels than the extended in one spot ones if that makes sense. I have had a lot of time to think about things the last few months and think about all the travels I’ve been on and the ones that come back to me as the most desirable are the ones that I packed very little, ran off little sleep and spent time exploring, perhaps I am party gypsy or something! I have enjoyed picking up more Spanish and plan to fully indulge myself to learn more of it as well as pick up on my French again. I love learning and want to be trilingual by 2019. My girls have shared this interest as well so I am so excited to see them passionate about learning a language. Marlee especially has tried more Spanish here than I ever thought she would and she is doing amazing! I am so excited to see where our next adventures take us!
