One of my top priorities is your baby’s safety and knowing how to pose a baby is the most important aspect of newborn photography. Not every baby will go into a pose and there are a lot of poses out there that I will never want to do not because I can’t but because it simply isn’t my style or I feel even with all precautions aren’t safe in my mind.
To get to where I am at today took me years or hard work, tears, practice, studying and traveling to newborn workshops to learn from the best in the industry. I believe education in newborn photography should be on every newborn photographers list to do before diving in.
I had the opportunity to travel to San Diego to learn from Stephanie with Jaiden Photography and she opened up my eyes in the way of flow posing along with keeping it simple, studying my angles to get more out of a pose and so much more!
This trip was my first solo trip since I went to teach english in Taiwan and the most nerve wrecking part was arriving way later than expected and having to find my rental car and hotel in the dark in a city I have never traveled to! The studio we got to shoot in was an eye opener of how I want my own to look which left me coming home feeling like I need to renovate! I got to work alongside with 8 other incredible photographers as we sat there learning, sharing and shooting together.
Here are some of my favorite images from my time there:
