As I venture into the wedding planning for our wedding along with being in the industry for 12 years now, I know the importance of reducing wedding stress. So here I am creating content to try to help you through this process, even if we aren't a great fit for eachother I'm happy for you and excited to help in any way I can.
Wedding films are an entirely different way to relive those special moments from your wedding day. It is an experience to invest in if you are looking to really fill the gaps of the day that photography can’t capture. Unlike a photograph, video captures so much more, it captures the voices, the laughs, the sweet words exchanged, your grandma’s dance moves… it brings you back in an immersive experience to relive those moments. This is why I decided to invest in my education to learn videography a few years ago; because as much as I love portraits and still think they are great I can create and capture more of a moment and it’s feeling in a video. Your wedding day will be a blur, it will go by fast and you won’t remember all the things said, you won’t remember the amazing speech your maid of honour gave… maybe you will have it on a phone that someone recorded but then what about the rest of the day? What about the moments in the morning while you are getting your makeup done and your grandma leans over to tell you her advice for your marriage? You may recall some of it but to relive it and hear her voice again is an entirely different experience.
Should you invest in wedding videography? If it is something in your non negotiable budget planning and something you value then yes! Videography isn’t a fad, neither is photography and they have both require an investment with different results. If you are looking to relive your wedding day and feel all the butterflies and goosebumps all over again and hear the quiver in his voice as he says his vows then video is for you to invest in.
Videography is 20 times the work of photos so it to avoid sticker shocking you it is best to be upfront that this experience is more of an investment than photography. Not only does video require a lot more gear we also spend 20-30 hours post wedding day, the same time it takes me to edit the full photo gallery, just watching the footage from all the cameras as well as listening to every piece of audio to create your film. Video editing is an additional 60-80 hours.
When we shoot wedding videos we capture the entire day from sunrise to the end of the party. We are up at 4am to go to your venue site to capture that sunrise, we get all the eye candy details of the venues before we even see you. For us it is a complete disservice to only offer partial day video as it is like giving you half of a book without the rest of the story. We would love to give you the experience with the best of both worlds; the video experience and the portraits. We can create a custom price for you. If you made it this far reading thank you! We would love to sit down go over what your wedding day film experience will look like and get planning with you!
